16 people injured by tornado in southern Brazil, 830 people left homeless.

At least 830 people have been left homeless as a result of a natural disaster in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, the G1 portal reported, citing local authorities.

According to rescue services, 16 people were injured, two are in serious condition. The hurricane winds, which reached a speed of 27.7 m / sec. and the hail destroyed 127 houses, damaged 55 buildings of state, regional and municipal institutions in 22 municipalities, mainly in the western and northern parts of the state.

The disaster raged for two days, and two tornadoes were registered in the region. In many places, falling trees led to roadblocks and power outages, the portal said. Natural disasters hit the region twice in June. On June 10, a tornado damaged about 300 homes in the western part of the state, 13 residents needed medical attention. Late last month, a cyclone hit the same state, causing extensive damage and the deaths of four people.
