A gas explosion toppled three floors of an apartment building in Russia.

A household gas explosion erupted at around 7.30 pm last night in one of the entrances of a panel residential building in the Russian city of Yaroslavl, TASS reported.

The explosion, followed by a fire, exploded in an apartment on the fourth floor of the ten-story block, as a result of which the slabs on the third, fourth and fifth floors collapsed. The bodies of two women and a child were taken out of the rubble, four people were injured.

The danger of the slab collapsing on the sixth floor remains.

Authorities plan today, after assessing the safety of the structure, to allow residents of the unaffected entrances, which were evacuated urgently, to their homes to pick up the left personal belongings, documents and pets.
