"This is very important for people suffering from bronchopulmonary and cardiovascular diseases," said endocrinologist, PhD Zalina Gusova.

Very useful, according to the endocrinologist, is apple peel, which contains phytochemicals that have anti-inflammatory action. It also contains pectin, which helps improve digestion. In addition, the micronutrients and vitamins "supplied" by apples help keep skin, nails and hair in good condition.

"The seeds of this fruit contain a large amount of iodine. However, they also contain hydrocyanic acid. It is believed that more than three or four seeds a day should not be consumed," said Gusova.

In fact, apples are quite a high-calorie food because they contain fructose, which, passing through the liver, is converted into sucrose. So, excessive consumption of apples is undesirable for people with diabetes and obesity, "said the expert.

Those who do not like whole apples should choose apple puree. According to Gusova, baked apples with already destroyed fibers are very useful - in this form they do not cause exacerbation of chronic gastritis.
