Cottage cheese is rich in proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, macro- and microelements. But the benefits of it largely depend on what you combine it with, Maria Mukhina, a doctor of medical sciences and a nutritionist, told Sputnik Radio.

For people over 50, it is recommended to eat 100-150 grams of cottage cheese every morning. In general, it is better for adults to eat cottage cheese in the morning because it retains fluids.

Exceptions are breastfeeding mothers, they, like children, better to consume cottage cheese in the evening, because it provides protein for growth. At the same time, the special value of the curd depends on the additives, explained Mukhina.

"Cottage cheese with herbs and green spices is a product with higher nutritional value, as you add chlorophyll, folic acid from herbs and vitamins to it. The combination with fruit again gives benefits to cottage cheese. If you add pepper or salt, it will lead to retention The curd combines well with sour cream - this improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and calcium", added the nutritionist.

It is especially harmful to combine cottage cheese with jam, advises Mukhina.
