A ferry is stranded near an archipelago in the Baltic Sea.

A ferry with 331 passengers and a 98-member crew is stranded today in the area of the Aland Islands in the Baltic Sea between Finland and Sweden, the Associated Press reported.

Finnish authorities said there was no "imminent danger" to human life and that the vessel had not been breached.

This afternoon, the Finnish Coast Guard announced that the Viking Line ferry had run into a shoal near the port of Mariehamn, the capital of the Ă…land Islands, on its way from Turku to Stockholm. A photo posted on Twitter shows the ship "Waking Grace" near the shore. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.

According to Finnish media, Viking Grace can carry up to 2,800 passengers.
