An Indonesian sold a meteorite that pierced the roof of his house for more than a million dollars, UPI reported.

Joshua Hutagalung, 33, worked in the yard of his home on Fr. Sumatra, when a meteorite broke through the roof of his house, rolled over and landed in the yard.

"When I picked it up, the stone was still warm. I brought it home", Hutagalung told the local Compass newspaper. The man also posted photos on Facebook, which show where the space fragment broke through the tin roof of the house.

The rare carbon chondrite CM1 / 2 weighing about two kilograms was estimated by experts at 1,858,556 dollars and attracted the attention of the American specialist Jared Collins. He bought it and then resold it to American collector Jay Piatek.

Hutagalung did not disclose the amount he received from the sale of the stone, only stating that it was over one million dollars. With the proceeds, he intends to expand the family home and intends to make a donation to build a local church.
